Playing with OSO

Interested in playing with OSO?

If you are a musician and would like to join the orchestra, please fill out our player registration form below. We will get back to you as soon as possible with details of our vacancies. Returning players can also use this form to update their contact details.

OSO welcomes applications from interested musicians to join us at any time. Some sections of the orchestra have more scope for expansion than others depending on instrument and current membership. Opportunities also depend on repertoire.

Participation in concerts is by invitation only and requires membership to be paid by the first rehearsal.

Membership Fee Schedule

Concerts

The Orange Symphony Orchestra currently plays two concerts per year. For the orchestral members, any concert by the OSO will be by invitation. Members will be invited to play based on need, skill and budget. Professional members will be paid for their time and extra rehearsals may be scheduled to stage the concert. The main conductor of the program will choose who to invite to play with advice from the committee and/or senior members of the orchestra.

Concert Rehearsals

The music director advises players of concert rehearsal dates in the weeks running up to the concerts. Rehearsal venues are also advised at this stage.

Extra concerts

Outside of the main OSO concerts during the year, there may be opportunities to perform at other OSO-affiliated events. Such concerts are likely to be on a much smaller scale, such as chamber music concerts or solo events. Involvement in these projects can be made by application or invitation. If a member has a fantastic idea for a concert and they wish to make it happen, don't hesitate to ask!
